Prof Archana Suresh Salunke

I'm usually here at the desk in Kothrud, right in Maskati Market at C 20 2. It’s a busy spot, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out doing their shopping and the noise from the street carries right up through the window. Prof Archana Suresh Salunke is what the sign says outside the door, but mostly it’s just a simple room where the work gets done. The office isn't anything fancy, just some chairs and a lot of papers that seem to grow into piles if I don't stay on top of them every single day. I’ve been in this part of Pune for a while now and I’ve grown used to the pace. The tea stall downstairs makes a decent cup, and that really helps when the days get long and the light starts to fade. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window frame during the monsoon, but we just move the folders out of the way. It’s a quiet routine for the most part. People come in with their questions, we talk over the wooden table, and I try to help them figure out whatever they’re stuck on. There’s no big team or anything like that here, just me and occasionally a helper if things get backed up. We don't have a shiny lobby. It's just an honest space where the lights stay on late. Most folks around here know exactly where C 20 2 is.
