We've been over here at 23/A/B Nigdi for a while now. Moving houses is just what we do every day. It's usually a lot of heavy lifting and making sure boxes don't fall apart in the truck. People call us when they're headed to a new place and need help with their furniture or kitchen sets. The roads around here can be busy, but we manage. It’s mostly about getting from point A to point B without losing anything. Sometimes the stairs are narrow or the elevators don't work, which makes things interesting. We have a couple of trucks that stay busy. My cousin started helping out last year when things got more hectic. Most of our day is spent wrapping things in old blankets or taped-up bubble wrap. It gets dusty and hot, especially in the afternoons, but that’s just part of the job. We know the Nigdi area pretty well by now. If you walk past our spot, you’ll probably see us loading something or just sitting with a chai before the next trip. It's not fancy work, but it keeps us moving. We just show up, pack the stuff, and drive. Most of the time, folks just want their fridge and bed in the new house by dinner. We try to keep things simple and get the job done. It's a lot of physical labor but we don't mind it. Our team is small and we all live nearby.
