Pote Hospital

Pote Hospital is located on Nagar Road in Shirur. It’s right on the main stretch, so it’s easy for people from the surrounding villages to get to us. We’ve been a part of the Shirur community for a long time. The building isn't brand new, but it’s solid and does what we need it to do. We see a lot of different cases every day, from minor scrapes to people who are really feeling under the weather. The lobby is often full of people chatting while they wait for their turn. We don't have any of those automated kiosks for checking in; you just talk to the person behind the counter. It feels more human that way. The doctors here grew up not too far away, so they understand the local way of life. Sometimes when it rains hard, the noise on the roof is so loud we have to raise our voices a bit. It’s just part of being here on Nagar Road. We try to keep things simple and honest. If we can’t help with something specific, we tell people straight away. There’s no point in making things more complicated than they need to be. We keep a pot of water for anyone who is thirsty and try to make sure there are enough fans running when it gets hot in the summer. It's just a regular, working hospital for regular people. We are just here whenever someone in town needs us.
