Potdar Hospital

Potdar Hospital sits at No. 26 in the Shiv Parashad Society, which is in the Panmala area off Sinhagad Road. Being inside a society makes it feel a bit more like a home than a big cold institution. We’ve been here serving the local community for quite some time now. Sinhagad Road is always packed with cars and bikes, but once you turn into the society, things quiet down a little bit. We have a few beds for patients who need to stay over, and the rooms are pretty basic but kept very clean. My brother actually helped paint the lobby a few years back. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see the same nurses every time you visit. We don't have a big corporate board or fancy slogans. We just try to help folks get better when they’re sick. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long if a lot of people show up at once on a Tuesday morning. We just ask everyone to be patient. We have a small desk for the paperwork and a bench outside where people can sit and get some fresh air. It’s a very grounded, local hospital. We know the people who live in the surrounding buildings. Most of the time, we’re just busy with the daily routine of checking temperatures and handing out medicine. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here. It has been our life for many years now.
