Poona Hospital & Research Centre

Sadashiv Peth is one of those parts of Pune where everything feels a bit crowded and old, and that’s where you’ll find this Poona Hospital & Research Centre location. We’ve been squeezed into these streets for a long time. The hospital stays pretty busy because Sadashiv Peth has so many people living and working in it. It’s not the easiest place to drive to, but folks around here know the way. Inside, the building shows its age a bit, but we keep it clean and keep the medical gear in good shape. We do research here too, not just regular checkups. You’ll see doctors huddled over notes or talking to families in the hallways. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren't used to it. The staff mostly speaks the local language and knows the regulars by name. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures. We just open the doors early in the morning and close them late at night. Sometimes we stay open even longer if there’s an emergency. It's a plain, hardworking hospital. Nothing more, nothing less. We handle the usual range of health issues that come through the door. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have fans and keep the work going regardless. It’s been this way for decades and we don't expect it to change much.
