We are based in the Hadapsar Mega Centre, which is a pretty big complex with a lot of different businesses. Platicon Civil Engineering Pvt Ltd is tucked away in one of the office sections there. It’s a lot more modern than a typical workshop, but it’s still a place where people are working hard. We spend most of our time on computers, drawing up plans for buildings and checking on site reports. There are always rolls of blueprints sitting on the tables and samples of construction materials like tiles or bricks leaning against the walls. The Mega Centre can be a busy place with people coming in for shopping or other offices, so there’s a constant hum of activity in the hallways. We usually have a pot of coffee going and a lot of discussion about load-bearing walls or drainage systems. It’s not all office work, though, as we have to head out to construction sites quite often to see how things are progressing. Those days are long and tiring, but coming back to the office to write it all down is part of the job. We try to stay organized, but with so many projects going on at once, the desks usually end up covered in sticky notes and sketches. It’s a decent place to work, and we get along well enough while we try to figure out the best way to get things built without too much trouble.
