Observer Research Foundation

Our office is tucked away at 39/51 Erandwane, specifically in the Aaram Apartments on Prabhat Road Lane 9. This is the Pune branch of the Observer Research Foundation. It’s a quiet spot, which is good because most of what we do involves reading, writing, and thinking about big topics. We aren't a business that sells products; we’re more about looking at policy and what's happening in the world. The office is filled with books, papers, and people working on their laptops. Prabhat Road is a nice area, and we like the atmosphere here. It’s not a corporate headquarters with a lobby and a receptionist. It’s more of a workspace where researchers can sit down and get into the details of their work. We spend our days looking at data or talking about things like the economy or urban planning. It’s academic in a way, but we try to keep it grounded in reality. Sometimes we host small meetings or discussions in our space. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on the research and hope it’s useful to someone. It’s a small group of us here in Pune, just doing our bit to understand how things are changing. It’s steady, quiet work, and we’ve been at this address for a good while now. We appreciate the calm of Lane 9 because it really helps with the kind of thinking we have to do.
