Modern Mens Parlour

Modern Mens Parlour is tucked away over here at S. No. 364/65 in Shivaji Nagar. Most people find us because we are right near Modern Cafe, which is a pretty well-known spot in this part of Pune. Being in the 411005 zip code means things are always moving fast outside, but inside the shop, we try to keep it steady. I’ve been working here for a while and the routine is pretty much the same every single morning. I open up the shutters, get the towels ready, and wait for the first customer to stop by. It’s a simple setup. We don't have those fancy spinning lights or loud music playing. It’s just a place for men to get their hair cut without a lot of fuss. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting on the bench, but everyone is usually patient. We talk about local things, the rain, or how hard it is to find parking near the cafe. I think people come here because they know what they’re going to get. It’s just a regular barbershop doing regular work for the people living or working around Shivaji Nagar. I don't really know how to explain it better than that. We are just here every day, doing what we do, and making sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater than when they walked in. That is about it for us.
