MASS CUTTING SYSTEMS is tucked away behind the Saraswati Vishwa Vidyalaya in Rupee Nagar. If you are driving down Talawade Road in Nigdi, you have to look for Gate 169 to find Shop No 1. It is a bit hidden if you are not familiar with the area. The sound of metal being cut is pretty much the soundtrack of our day. We have got machines running for hours, and there is always that smell of hot steel and cutting oil in the air. It is an industrial vibe, and we do not try to pretend it is anything else. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings, even though we try to sweep up at the end of every shift. Being right behind a school means we hear the kids during their breaks, which is a nice change from the mechanical noise. The shop itself is not very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack the materials. Most of the people who come here are regular workers or contractors from around the Nigdi area. We do not have a big marketing team or a front desk person. Usually, whoever is closest to the door when someone walks in is the one who helps them. It is a practical place for people who need things cut to specific sizes. We just focus on getting the measurements right and keeping the machines in good shape while we work.
