Our spot is right on the Pimpri Ambuja Nagar Approach Road. If you know where the Kalewadi Police Chowki is, we’re just opposite that. It’s a handy landmark because everyone knows the police station. The road outside is always humming with traffic, bikes and cars mostly, so there’s a bit of dust that comes in if we leave the door open too long. Inside, it’s a pretty simple setup. I’ve got my desk, some filing cabinets, and enough room for people to sit when they drop by to discuss things. Manohar keeps things organized, though some days the desk looks a bit messy with all the notes and files. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the door. It’s a local business through and through. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. Usually, the mornings are quiet and then it picks up after lunch. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or use the back-up. It’s not the most modern office in the world, but it’s where we do our work every day. We’ve grown used to the noise from the chowki and the approach road. It’s just part of being in this area. We handle the daily tasks, answer the phones, and keep the records straight without making a big fuss about it. We stay until the work is finished.
