Mangesh Lab

Our little spot for Mangesh Lab is right there in Baramati at Lohar Chawl, which is usually a pretty busy area throughout the day. We get started quite early in the morning, usually before the sun is really up, because that is when people like to come in before they head off to their own jobs. The space is kept very clean, mostly because you have to when you are dealing with glass slides and testing equipment all day long. There is a specific smell of spirit and cleaning fluid that hangs in the air, which I suppose is common for any place like this. We spend a lot of time looking through the microscope or waiting for the machines to finish their cycles. It is quiet work for the most part, though the neighbors from the other shops in the chawl often pop their heads in to say hello or share a cup of tea when things slow down in the afternoon. We have been in this location for a while, so we know most of the families around here by their first names. It is not about being a big corporation; it is just about being the local place where people can bring their samples and get their papers without a lot of fuss. We just keep our heads down, do the work carefully, and make sure the records are kept straight on the shelves.
