Mandal Parishad Elementary School

Our school is located at Plot No 6, Survey No 9/16. It’s right on the Baner Balewadi Road, which most people around here call the main stretch. Balewadi-Baner has grown so much lately, but our little corner remains pretty much the same as it was. It’s a basic building. We don’t have those big glass windows or modern designs you see in the new offices nearby. It’s just a solid place for the kids to come every morning. The dust from the road gets in sometimes, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the floors. You can hear the cars and bikes rushing past all day long. Pune 411045 is a busy pin code now. We have a small yard where things happen, and the gate usually squeaks a bit when you open it. It’s not a fancy institution. We just have the classrooms and the desks and the blackboards. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep going. It feels like a real part of the community because we’ve seen the families here change over the years. Some parents went here themselves back in the day. It’s a functional spot, nothing more and nothing less. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun starts to go down. It’s just a regular local school for the neighborhood families. There are no bells and whistles here, just the basics.
