Mahmane Farm

Our place is located out on the Pune Satara Road at number 6. It is a bit away from the main city center so things are a little quieter here, though the highway traffic is always moving. We spend most of our time dealing with things that come straight from the land. It is physical work and depends a lot on the weather and the seasons. Some days are very long and tiring, especially when we have a lot of heavy stuff to move or prepare for the next morning. The farm life isn't as easy as people think, there is always something that needs fixing or a patch of ground that needs attention. We have a small shed where we keep our tools and some of the produce. It gets quite dusty when the wind picks up off the road. We see a lot of people who are traveling between Pune and Satara stopping by to see what we have. We don't have a big fancy office, just a simple desk and some chairs where we sit to talk. The sun can be quite harsh out here since there isn't much shade around the main work area. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It is honest work and it feels good to be working with your hands in the dirt. We just take things one day at a time and hope for good rain and decent harvests throughout the year so we can keep going.
