Mahajan La Petite Play School

Mahajan La Petite Play School is located over in Mundhwa. It’s an interesting part of Pune because you have the old village areas mixed in with all the new high-rise apartments. Our school is right in the middle of that transition. We get kids from both the older houses and the new complexes. The mornings start with the sound of traffic and the school bus arriving. We spend a lot of time inside making sure the rooms are tidy, though with toddlers around, they don't stay that way for long. There’s always a stray crayon or a toy car hiding under a cupboard somewhere. Our team is small, just a few of us who have lived in Pune for years. We handle everything from the admissions to the cleaning. The building itself is simple and we try to keep it as bright as we can with the posters the kids make. Mundhwa can be a bit noisy with the construction nearby, so we’ve gotten used to working through the background sounds. We don't really do anything fancy here. We just follow the schedule, give the kids their snacks, and make sure they’re picked up on time. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Friday. We’ve seen the neighborhood change so much, but our daily routine of looking after the little ones stays pretty much the same.
