Madanpur Natunpara Primary School

We’re located on the 5th floor of Sohrab Hall, which is right on B S Dhole Patil Road. It’s a bit of a different setting for a primary school, being up on the fifth floor in a building like this, but it’s right in the heart of the 411001 area of Pune. Being central makes it easier for a lot of parents who work nearby to drop their children off. The school day usually starts with the sound of kids coming up the elevators or stairs, and it stays pretty lively until the final bell. We don't have a giant outdoor playground, but we’ve arranged the space inside so there's room for the kids to learn and play. It’s a very urban kind of school. We don’t put on airs or try to sound like a big corporation. We’re just a group of teachers and staff trying to help the younger kids get a start on their education. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff like desks, boards, and lots of drawings on the walls. Dhole Patil Road is always busy, so there’s always something going on outside, but inside we try to keep things focused on the lessons. It’s a small, local setup that’s been part of the city for some time. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the kids are learning what they need to. It is a practical way to run a school in the middle of town.
