M S Engg Works

We have been here at number 842 in Bhavani Peth for a long time now. If you know this part of the city, you probably recognize the Ramprasad Chiwada shop which is right nearby. The smell of those fried snacks often wafts into our workshop while we are busy with the machines. M S Engg Works is not a big or fancy place. It is just a straightforward shop where we handle various engineering jobs. Mostly, we are working with metal, cutting and fixing parts that people bring in. It gets quite loud during the day with the sound of grinding and welding, and the floor usually has a thin layer of metal dust by the afternoon. We spend a lot of time just cleaning up so we can find our tools under the mess. The walls are a bit stained and the lighting could be better in the corners, but it serves us well for the kind of work we do. People in the neighborhood know they can drop by when they need a small part repaired or something custom made. We do not have a separate office or a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever is at the bench. Bhavani Peth is always crowded and noisy, but we have gotten used to the rhythm of the street. We use old-fashioned tools because they are reliable and we know how to handle them. It is honest work and we just take it one day at a time.
