Kuldeep Brothers

Kuldeep Brothers is based out of No.27 in the Timber Market area of Shivaji Nagar. We are quite close to the bus stand, so there’s always noise and people moving about from morning until night. My brother and I have been at this for a long time now. The timber market is a rough-and-ready kind of place, but it suits us just fine. We have all sorts of wood stacked up high, and the smell of sawdust is something you just get used to after your first week on the job. It’s not a fancy setup at all. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and a couple of stools for when neighbors or customers stop by to chat. Most of our day is spent helping people pick out what they need for their homes or shops. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult for us, especially when it rains and we have to cover everything up with plastic sheets quickly. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the heavy lifting and sorting. The traffic near the bus stand can be a real headache when we are trying to get a delivery truck out into the street, but we make it work somehow. It’s a family thing, really. We’ve known the other shop owners around here for years, so it feels like a little community. We just focus on getting the day's work finished and making sure our records are right.
