Omsai Tractors

Omsai Tractors is located over at Fatima Nagar 6th Cross on Nrupathunga Road. It is not a very quiet place because there is always some kind of engine noise or the sound of metal tools hitting the floor. The workshop area has plenty of oil stains on the concrete which is expected when you deal with heavy machinery all day long. We have parts for various models sitting on the racks and sometimes it takes a minute to find the exact bolt or filter someone is looking for. The air usually smells like diesel and old grease. Farmers and guys from the construction sites around here come by when their equipment starts acting up or needs a part they can’t find elsewhere. It gets quite dusty since we are right near the cross road and the wind blows everything inside. We have a couple of old chairs for people to sit on while they wait but mostly everyone just stands around talking about the weather or the crops. The walls are covered with old calendars and some charts that have been there since we opened. It is a bit disorganized if you look closely but we know where most things are kept. Working on these big machines is heavy work and by the end of the day our hands are usually stained black from the grease. It is just a regular shop doing what needs to be done for the tractors.
