Our place is at Shed No 2, S25/6/3 in the Sharda Industrial Estate over in Hingane Khurd. If you know the industrial area, you know it’s mostly just rows of sheds and the sound of machines. Sukata Tractor Parts Pvt. Ltd. is one of those places where there’s always grease on someone’s hands. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling filled with gears, bolts, and heavy iron pieces for tractors. It’s a bit dark inside the shed, even during the day, so we have those big lights hanging down from the metal rafters. The floor is stained from years of moving heavy parts around. We don't have a showroom with shiny floors. If you come by, you’re probably looking for a specific part that’s hard to find elsewhere. We spend a lot of time digging through catalogs or looking at the back of the shelves. The air smells like oil and old metal. It’s not a place for a suit and tie. We usually wear old shirts that we don’t mind getting dirty. Dealing with tractor parts means heavy lifting, so we’re usually pretty tired by the time we close up the shed at night. Sharda Industrial Estate is a busy place, with trucks coming in and out at all hours. We just try to keep our corner of it organized enough to find what we need. It’s just the daily work, and the tractors keep running because of the parts we keep here. We just keep our heads down and do the job.
