Kalavara Traders

We are based out of Sham Shakuntal Heights in the Modi Baug area of Shivajinagar. Kalavara Traders is basically just a few of us working in this space. Shivajinagar is a pretty active area, so there’s always some noise from the street, but being in the Heights keeps us a bit away from the direct chaos. The office is a bit old-fashioned. We have wooden desks and a lot of paper ledgers because we still like doing some things the old way. There’s a big window that looks out towards the main road, but we usually keep the curtains half-drawn. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we have a couple of fans running most of the time. We aren’t looking to impress anyone with the decor. It’s just a place where we come to handle our trading business. We have a small pantry where we make tea. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking prices. We’ve been in this building for a good number of years now. You get used to the neighbors and the way the light hits the floor at five in the evening. It’s a comfortable enough spot for us. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the week. It’s not complicated, just steady work that we do together in this little office.
