Jmd Automobiles

In the middle of Pimpri, you can find our place, Jmd Automobiles. We are basically a spare parts and repair shop for vehicles. The space we work in is quite old and has that specific smell of rubber and engine grease that stays with you. We have stacks of boxes everywhere, filled with various engine components and bits of hardware. It’s not the most beautiful shop in Pimpri, but we have everything a mechanic might need. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be ordered for the next day. The afternoon is usually when most people drop by with their vehicles. We have a small counter where we handle the money and write out receipts by hand in a carbon-copy book. There isn't any air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it's on high. We have a small stove in the back where we make tea for ourselves and the customers who are waiting. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We talk about the weather, the local news, and of course, cars. Sometimes we have to stay late because a delivery was delayed or a repair turned out to be more complicated than we thought. We don't mind the long hours because it’s our own business. We’ve been here for years and we’ve seen the neighborhood grow and change around us while we just keep fixing engines.
