Jaagrit Women & Child Welfare Sangathan And Family Welfare Foundation

You can find us over at Shashwat Park in Valivli, specifically in flat 701 of the Z wing. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a welfare foundation, being in an apartment building and all, but it works for what we need. A few of us got together because we saw that the women and kids in our neighborhood could use some extra support. Life in the city gets busy and people often don't even know their neighbors, so we wanted to change that a bit. We spend our time checking in on families and seeing who needs a hand with things like school stuff or health questions. It’s not always organized perfectly. Sometimes our meetings are just a few people sitting around a kitchen table with a lot of noise from the street coming through the window. We handle a lot of different things, from family welfare to just making sure the kids have a safe place to go. The paperwork for the foundation is a bit of a headache, and we are still learning how to manage all the official stuff. We don't have a big budget or fancy equipment. Most of what we do is just talking to people and trying to find solutions for the problems they face every day. It’s tiring work sometimes, especially when you feel like you aren't doing enough, but we keep at it because we live here too.
