Ishwar Trader

Down in Chinchwad East, we run Ishwar Trader. It is more of a warehouse and office setup than a regular retail shop. We deal with a lot of bulk goods so there are always trucks backing into the loading area and men carrying heavy sacks or crates on their shoulders. The air around here is usually thick with the smell of diesel and dust because of all the industrial activity in this part of Chinchwad. We have a small office area with a couple of chairs and a fan that squeaks a little when it’s on the high setting. Most of our time is spent on the phone talking to suppliers or writing out invoices on carbon paper. It’s a lot of paperwork and manual labor. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a clock that is five minutes fast. Sometimes the shipments are late and we just have to sit around drinking tea and waiting. The neighborhood is very busy and there is always someone shouting or a machine running somewhere nearby. It’s not the quietest place to work but we have been here for a while and we are used to the noise. We keep the doors open to let some air in even if it means the dust comes in too. Dealing with logistics and trading is just about getting things from one place to another without too much trouble.
