Ice Cream Parlour

Down on the Girim Attibele road, things are usually a bit quieter than in the main city. Our Ice Cream Parlour is just a small room with a few big freezers lined up against the wall. You can hear the constant hum of the compressors working to keep everything frozen. It’s a sound we don't even notice anymore. When the sun is hitting the pavement outside, people pull over their cars or park their bikes just to get something cold. We keep a few chairs outside under the small awning, but most people just stand around while they eat. We have all the basic flavors that everyone expects. Sometimes the lids on the containers get stuck because of the ice buildup, and we have to use a little force to get them open. It’s a simple job, really. We scoop the ice cream, take the money, and wipe the counter when it gets sticky. The floor is tiled and easy to wash down at the end of the night. We get a lot of families on the weekends who are out for a drive. They usually bring their dogs along too. We don't have fancy lights or music playing. It’s just a place to get a cold treat on a hot road. We stay open until the last customer leaves, which is usually around ten at night. We've been here for two years now and the neighbors seem to appreciate having us around.
