Ibm Pune

We are currently working out of room A 405 in Hostel 12 at the IIT Bombay campus in Powai. It is definitely a different kind of setup. We are right in the middle of a university area in Mumbai. If you have ever been to Powai, you know how busy the main roads are. Inside the campus, it is a lot more peaceful and green, though. The office space itself is quite small. You would expect that for a hostel room. It is mostly just a few chairs, some laptops, and a lot of notebooks scattered around on the tables. Being in a hostel means there is always some noise or activity happening nearby. It keeps things interesting for us. It is not your typical corporate environment by any means. We have to deal with the usual Mumbai heat and humidity. During the monsoon, the walks across campus to the office can get pretty messy with all the rain. We spend our hours working on various projects. Sometimes we lose track of time because the academic atmosphere is quite intense. It is a very functional and basic space. We don’t have a front desk or any formal reception area for visitors. People just knock on the door if they need to talk to us about something. It feels very grassroots. The view from our window is just other campus buildings and trees. We like being part of this community. It is an honest place to work.
