We are located at Plot No 116/B in Sector No 23 of Transport Nagar. It’s a busy area in Nigdi, not far from Appu Ghar, so you always hear the sounds of trucks and machinery around us. Haryana Delhi Freight Carriers has been running out of this spot for quite some time. The office is basically just a small building tucked among the larger warehouses and parking lots. It’s usually dusty because of all the heavy vehicles moving in and out of the yard. We spend our days tracking where the trucks are and making sure the drivers have their paperwork ready for the next trip. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit; most of us are in old clothes because you’re bound to get some grease or dirt on you eventually. The phone is constantly buzzing with people asking about their loads or drivers calling in from the road. Sometimes things get delayed because of traffic or a breakdown, and we just have to figure it out as we go. There’s a small place nearby where we get our lunch, and that’s about the only break we get. It’s hard work and the hours are often long, but that’s just the nature of transport. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything, just some desks, a lot of maps, and some old ledgers. It’s just a regular logistics office trying to keep things moving day after day.
