Up in Phase 3 of Hinjewadi, near the B Mart and Krishna Market, you’ll find Gurukool Pre School. It’s a busy area because of all the offices nearby, but our little corner stays focused on the kids. The noise from the market carries over sometimes, especially on busy days. We have a decent-sized area for the children to move around. The walls are covered in finger paintings and cut-out shapes that the kids made themselves. It’s not perfectly neat, but it shows that people are actually using the space. We have a few large shelves holding puzzles and those big plastic beads that kids like to string together. Hinjewadi is mostly known for big buildings, so having a small school like this feels a bit different. The floor is tiled and easy to mop, which is good because there are always spills from water bottles. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics like chalkboards and some small chairs. Parents usually drop their kids off in a hurry because they’re headed to work in the tech park nearby. We make sure everyone gets their lunch and has a bit of a rest in the afternoon when it gets hot outside. The fans stay on high most of the time. It’s a practical place for working parents who need someone to look after their little ones throughout the long day.
