Gayatri Electronics

We’ve been here in New Bajar Peth for a while now. Gayatri Electronics is just a small place in Walchandnagar. Most days it’s just us surrounded by parts and tools. People from around Indapur come in when their stuff breaks. We try to figure out what’s wrong with the boards or the wiring. It gets dusty in the shop, especially in the afternoons. Pune weather is okay, but inside here with the soldering irons going, it stays pretty warm. We aren't a big showroom. It’s more of a workbench kind of place. Sometimes we don’t have the part right away and have to wait for the delivery. That’s just how it goes in a small town. We know most of the people who walk through the door. They bring in old radios or sometimes newer stuff they can't get to work. We spend a lot of time looking through magnifying glasses. It’s quiet work mostly. The street outside gets busy during market days with all the noise and people buying groceries. If you’re looking for us, we’re right there in the thick of it. We don't have a fancy sign or anything. Just the name on the board that’s faded a bit over the years. We keep the tools organized as much as we can, but it usually ends up a bit messy by Friday afternoon. It’s a living. We just do the work and hope the fixes hold up for a long time. The floor is concrete and we have a couple of old chairs for anyone waiting.
