Our shop is Shop No. 12 inside the Bhama Complex. We are right in the heart of Ganesh Peth, close to the Bulleya Murti Mandir at Pangul Ali Chowk. It is a very crowded and noisy part of the city, but we like it that way. There are always people walking past and you can hear the bells from the temple throughout the day. We trade in different kinds of goods. What we have in stock often changes depending on the time of year or what our regulars are looking for. The shop itself is quite small, so we have to stack everything up high. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort just to find one item at the bottom of a stack. We have been in Ganesh Peth for a long time. We know the other shopkeepers and the person who sells tea around the corner. It is a very lively neighborhood. Getting new stock into the complex is a struggle when the streets are full of people, so we try to do it very early. We don't have any big business plans or fancy computers. We just open up, sweep the floor, and wait for the customers to come in. Most people stop by because they were already at the Mandir or shopping nearby. We try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It is just an old-school way of doing things with a calculator and a ledger.
