Friends Traders Chicken & Eggs Private Limited is located at House No-143 in the Virkarvasti area of Kelgaon. We are out in the Takhed part of Pune. The business is run by the family, and you’ll often find Dashrath Virkar around the place. As the name says, we are all about chicken and eggs. It’s a very hands-on business. You can’t really do this kind of work from a fancy office building in the city. We are right there where the birds are. Every morning starts very early, usually before the sun is even up, because that’s when the eggs need to be collected and the birds need to be checked. It’s a noisy and earthy environment. Our house and the business are pretty much in the same spot, so there isn't really an "off" switch for the work. We supply to local markets and shops around the Pune district. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the narrow roads around Kelgaon, but we make it work. We don't use any corporate jargon here. We just talk about feed, health, and how many crates are ready for the morning run. It’s hard work and your clothes will definitely get dirty, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and just keep our heads down.
