Our place is inside the Taware Hostel building, right near Appa Balwant Chowk. If you’ve ever walked around that part of Pune, you know how crowded it gets with all the bookshops and people heading toward Tulsi Bag. We are very close to the Tambdi Jogeshwari Mata Mandir, so there’s always a bit of a buzz in the air, especially during festival times. The name of the business is just Free. We chose it because it was simple and easy to remember, even if people ask us what it means all the time. Working out of a hostel building means there’s always something going on. It’s not the quietest office in the world, but it has a lot of character. We spend our days mostly at our desks, surrounded by piles of paper and tea cups. Being in the heart of Pune 411002 means we’re never far from a good snack or a quick errand. The stairs up to our spot are a bit steep, and the lighting in the hallway is a little dim, but once you get inside, it’s a productive little space. We don't have a receptionist or anything. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up and opens the door. It’s a very hands-on way to run a business. We like being part of the old city vibe, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. It feels real here.
