Flash Electronics

Down in Akurdi, Pune, you’ll find Flash Electronics tucked away where the streets get a bit busy with all the local traffic. It’s a lively area, and our shop is right in the middle of it all. We’ve got a workbench that’s seen better days, covered in scorch marks from the soldering iron and little bits of clipped wire. Most of our day is spent leaning over a desk, squinting at tiny parts that make things work. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning and fancy chairs. We have a few stools for people to sit on while they tell us what’s wrong with their equipment. Pune has a lot of energy, and Akurdi is no different. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to work or the market. Some of them stop in just to say hello or ask for a quick fix on a phone charger. We keep a pretty wide variety of fuses and capacitors in those little plastic drawers against the wall. It’s a bit cramped inside because we never throw anything away if it looks like it might still be useful. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back on. It’s just a regular local business run by people who live nearby and understand how frustrating it is when your electronics quit on you unexpectedly. We just try to do right by the neighborhood.
