First Five Nursery School

Our school is tucked away in Pallod Farms on Baner Road. It’s a bit of a relief to get off the main road because the Pune traffic is just getting worse every year. We’re at Survey No 270, and it’s a bit greener back here than you’d expect for Baner. The nursery is just a few rooms where we have the kids most of the day. We’ve got some old rugs and a bunch of plastic crates full of toys that never stay organized for more than ten minutes. The mornings are always a bit of a rush with parents dropping off their kids before they head to their IT jobs. We spend a lot of time wiping tables and helping kids with their lunch boxes. Sometimes the garden area gets a bit overgrown, but it’s nice for the kids to have some dirt to dig in. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything like that. It’s just us and the children, learning how to share and sit still for five minutes. The walls are covered in smudges and half-finished drawings. We try to keep things simple. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we know all the local families. It’s just a small, local place where we do our best to look after the little ones without making a big fuss about it. We close up around noon and then get ready for the next morning.
