You can find us at Pschim Ranga, Shop No. 6, in the Warje Malwadi area of Pune. It’s a small retail-style space but we do a lot of our back-end work here too. Since we are in a shop complex, we see a lot of local people walking by every day. The space is filled with racks of clothes and a small counter where we handle the billing. It’s not very big, so we have to be very smart about where we put everything. Sometimes the back room gets so full of inventory that you can barely turn around. We try to keep things friendly and relaxed. If a customer comes in, we just let them look around without hovering too much. We do our own inventory checks on Tuesday mornings when things are a bit slower. The parking outside can be a nightmare during the weekends, so we usually tell people to come early. We’ve got a small fan behind the counter that helps during the Pune heat. It’s a pretty straightforward business. We buy what we think people will like and hope it sells. Most of the time we are just busy tagging items or rearranging the display to make it look a bit fresher. It’s a nice little spot in a good neighborhood, and we’ve been here long enough to know most of the other shopkeepers. We usually close up around eight.
