Amber Karve

Our place is over at 39/1A/2/2 on Sinhagad Road in Marol. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always noise from the traffic. We’ve been operating out of this small space for quite a few years now. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or anything. It’s more like a workshop. We have benches and some older equipment that we use every day. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the street, so we’re always cleaning. My brother and I started this after we left our old jobs. We wanted something closer to home. It’s just the two of us and one helper. We handle various tasks that come our way. We don't really have a specialty, we just fix things and get work done for people in the neighborhood. The lighting isn't great in the back, but we have some good lamps. We keep our tools organized on a big board, though sometimes things go missing. We drink a lot of coffee while we work. People stop by to chat or ask for advice on a project they’re doing at home. We don't charge for talking. It’s a simple way to make a living. We aren't looking to get rich, just to keep the lights on and do a decent job. It's a bit cramped but it feels like home now. We just do the work as it comes.
