This is the spot at 110 Narenpearl, right on Magarpatta Road. It’s a regular part of Hadapsar that gets a lot of people passing through every single day. We are mostly busy with the optical side of things, looking at lenses and frames and making sure the prescriptions are right. The shop has big glass windows at the front, so we see everything happening out on the street while we work. We have a lot of different trays filled with glasses that we have to keep organized, which is a bit of a chore sometimes. People stop in after work or while they are out running errands. The air conditioning is usually running because the Pune heat can be a lot in the middle of the day. We have a little desk where we write down all the appointments in a big paper diary because we still like having it on paper. The walls are mostly covered with mirrors so people can see how they look in the frames they pick. It’s a simple setup, nothing too fancy or complicated. We talk to the neighbors from the nearby shops quite a bit, and sometimes we grab tea from the stall down the road when things get quiet. It’s a steady kind of work, and we like being in this part of Hadapsar. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks through the door.
