Edge Architects

Edge Architects is based over in the Camp area, specifically at Mahatma Gandhi 307. If you know the area, you know how lively and crowded Mahatma Gandhi Road can get on any given afternoon. Our office at number 307 is a bit of a retreat from all that noise and bustle downstairs. We’ve got a space that is mostly taken up by drawing boards and computer stations. It’s not the most organized place in the world, as there are always sketches and material samples sitting out on any flat surface we can find. We focus on architectural work, which means a lot of our time is spent thinking about how buildings stand up and how people actually move through the rooms. It’s a lot of measuring and double-checking the small details. We are a small group, and we tend to just get on with things without making much of a fuss. You won't find any slick presentations or corporate talk here. We just show people what we are working on and explain the reality of the construction process. There are days when we are just stuck in the office all day, and other days when we are out in the sun at a site for hours. It’s a good mix that keeps us on our toes. Being in Camp is great because there is always somewhere good to eat nearby, which helps when we are working through lunch to finish a drawing.
