Our office is tucked away in Shriram Appt, B Wing, right in the Anand Nagar area. It’s on Suncity Road here in Pune, which most people know is always busy with traffic heading toward Singhgad Road. We are in Flat No 5, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office. Dr J M Mulay started this consulting engineering work quite some time ago. When you walk in, you’ll mostly see stacks of blueprints and technical drawings spread out on the large tables. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. The windows look out toward the other buildings in the complex. It gets a bit noisy in the afternoons when kids are coming back from school in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time on the phone with sites or looking over structural plans. It isn't a place with a shiny reception desk or someone in a suit waiting to greet you. Usually, someone just looks up from their computer and says hello. We like being in this part of Pune because it’s close to everything we need. The sun hits the balcony in the morning, which is nice. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s just how things are here. We keep busy with the engineering side of things and don’t worry much about the rest.
