Dipak Mahadev Phuie

Shaniwar Peth is where we spend most of our time. It is an old part of the city. We have been here at 1265?1981 for a long time now. The building is old and the streets are narrow, but that is just how it is here. Most days are the same. We open up, get things ready, and wait for people to drop by. Sometimes it gets really busy with traffic outside, but we just keep going. People know where to find us. Dipak Mahadev Phuie started this because it was what he knew how to do. There is no big secret to how we work. We just do the job and go home at the end of the day. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow, but we manage. It’s a small space, mostly filled with the things we need for the day’s tasks. My father used to say that as long as you show up every morning, things will work out fine. We don't have fancy furniture or a big sign. Just a desk and some chairs and the tools we use. If you walk down the lane past the old houses, you’ll see us. It gets noisy in the afternoons with the school nearby, but we like the energy. We’ve known the neighbors for years. We share tea and talk about the weather or the news. It’s just a normal life here in the Peth area.
