I work at Dia, which is located right inside the lobby level of the Westin Hotels & Resorts over in Koregaon Park. It is a bit different from the usual street-side shops because everything is so quiet and polished here. I usually spend my shift sitting behind the counter, watching the guests check in and out. It is a nice spot, very cool because of the air conditioning, which is a relief during the summer months. We have some jewelry and other items on display in the glass cases. People often wander in after having a meal at one of the hotel restaurants or while they are waiting for a meeting to start. It isn't a huge place, just a cozy corner of the lobby. I try to keep everything looking neat, though sometimes I find myself rearranging the same few items just to stay busy. Being in Koregaon Park means we see all sorts of people from all over the world. My English isn't perfect, but I manage to talk to everyone who comes through. It is an interesting job because you never know who is going to walk through the doors next. Sometimes it's very busy, and other times I just sit and watch the rain through the big hotel windows. It's a decent way to spend the day, and the environment is much better than my last job in a crowded market. We’ve been here since the hotel opened and it’s become a bit of a second home for me.
