Deepa Beauty Parlour

Deepa Beauty Parlour has been at this spot on Canal Road in Deccan Gymkhana for a long time. We are right opposite Khandagale Coaching Classes which means there are always students walking past our door. Pune is a city that changes fast but this part of Deccan Gymkhana feels pretty much the same as it always has. We have our regulars who have been coming to us since we first opened up. The shop is small and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting. We have a couple of chairs and some big mirrors that have seen better days. The traffic on Canal Road can get pretty loud in the evenings but you get used to it after a while. We do all the basic stuff like hair and skin things that people need. We don't have any of those expensive machines you see in the malls. It is just us and our scissors and creams. My sister helps out sometimes when it gets busy on the weekends. We try to keep the place tidy but there is always hair on the floor no matter how much we sweep. It is a decent living and we like being part of the community here. If you are near the coaching classes you will see our sign hanging out front. It is a bit faded from the sun but it still says Deepa Beauty Parlour clearly enough for everyone.
