D V Saralkar is situated in Shivaji Nagar, right within the Jay Yogeshwar Township 1 5. Being part of a township means we are surrounded by a lot of families and other small businesses. It gives the place a very neighborly feel. Our office is a small, practical space. We don’t have much room for extras, so we keep things very organized. The desks are pushed up against the walls to make more space in the middle. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, where we can see the kids playing after school and people heading home from work. It’s a very ordinary setting, which is exactly how we like it. We aren't interested in being in a big, cold commercial tower. We like being where the people are. The work we do involves a lot of reading and writing, so it can be quite quiet inside most of the time. We have a small kettle for making coffee, and the walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes we’ve scribbled to ourselves. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out or work by the light from the door. It’s just a normal part of life here. We’ve become a part of the fabric of this township over the years, and we know our way around every corner of Shivaji Nagar.
