Computer Operator

I work out of a place in Shaniwar Peth, which is a very old and traditional part of Pune. Specifically, I am at 289 Mohankar Wada, in Tambe Bol. If you know the area, you know how narrow the lanes can be. It has a lot of history. My computer setup is inside this old building. It’s cool inside because of the thick walls, which is nice during the Pune summers. I am a computer operator. I handle all sorts of digital work for people in the Peth. The atmosphere here is different from the IT parks in Hinjewadi. It’s more personal. People walk in and we talk for a bit before we get to the work. I have my computer, a printer, and piles of paper that I really should sort through. The Wada has a lot of character. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day. I’ve been doing this for a while now. I like the pace of life in Shaniwar Peth. It’s busy but not in a corporate way. I don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. Word of mouth is how people find me. My chair is old and a bit uncomfortable, but it works. I spend my hours typing and managing files. It’s a simple business in a historic part of the city. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else because this place feels real to me. It is just a job, but I like it.
