Working out of an office in City Mall on Ganesh Khind Road is a bit different than being on a farm. We are in Office No. 114 on the first floor. It’s quite close to Pune University, so the area is always packed with students and traffic. Mahafeed Speciality Fertilizers (India) Pvt. Ltd. is what we call our business. Even though we are in a mall, we are dealing with fertilizers and stuff for agriculture. It’s funny sometimes, people are walking around shopping for clothes and we are upstairs talking about soil nutrients and crop yields. The office is our base for managing everything. We spend a lot of time on the phone or in meetings, trying to coordinate how the fertilizers get to the farmers who actually need them. Ganesh Khind Road is always a mess with traffic, especially in the evenings, so getting in and out of the office can be a bit of a chore. But it’s a good location for being in the middle of things in Pune. We don't have a big fancy showroom; it’s just a workspace where we get things done. We focus on the details of the speciality products we handle and try to keep our paperwork in order. It’s just a regular office life mixed with the agro business. We stay pretty busy with the phones and the spreadsheets most of the time. When the day is over, we just head out into the Pune traffic like everyone else.
