Chaitanya Paints

Chaitanya Paints is located over in Kothrud, near the Ganapati Chowk. We are tucked into the Rahul Garden area, not too far from Prashant Hall. It’s a busy part of town, especially when there are functions or festivals going on nearby. The shop is full of color, mostly from the rows of paint cans lined up on every wall. I spend a lot of time mixing colors for people who want something specific for their homes. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it just right, but I don't mind the work. The floor has a few paint spills here and there, which just shows how much we do. I’m usually wearing an old shirt that’s seen better days because paint tends to get everywhere. We get a lot of locals who are just doing a bit of DIY work on their apartments. They ask for advice on which brush to use or how many coats they need. I tell them what I know from my years here. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot where you can get your supplies and have a quick chat. It gets a bit hectic around the holidays when everyone wants to freshen up their walls. Outside, the traffic at Ganapati Chowk is always moving, but inside it’s just me and the smell of fresh paint. I like the routine of opening up and seeing what colors people are picking today.
