Bombay Hair Cutting

If you walk down University Road near Chaturshringi, you will find us right across from Pune University. We have been at Plot No. 15 for quite some time now. It is a busy spot because of all the students and staff from the university always rushing past the door. My father started this place, and I have been working here since I was a young man. The shop isn't very large, but we make it work with what we have. We usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly old songs that everyone seems to know. Sometimes the queue gets a bit long on weekends, and people have to wait on the wooden bench outside. We see a lot of the same faces every month. Students come in for a quick trim before their exams, and we hear all about their classes and their stress. It is funny how much you learn about people just by cutting their hair for fifteen minutes. The mirrors are a bit old and the chairs might creak a little, but they are comfortable enough for a haircut. We keep our scissors sharp and the floor swept as much as we can between the different customers. It is a loud, lively area of Pune to be in. We do not do anything fancy, just standard hair cutting for the neighborhood folks. Sometimes we stay open a bit late if someone knocks on the door right at closing time.
