Bhagawati Netralaya

Bhagawati Netralaya is right in the middle of the action at Manik Chowk in Chakan. We are part of the Tal Khed region, which is a very busy place these days with all the trucks and industry nearby. Because we are located at the chowk, there is always noise from the street and people shouting outside. We have gotten used to it over the years. Our clinic is simple and we do not spend much money on making it look like a luxury hotel. It is just a place for people to come when they have trouble with their eyes. We spend a lot of time dusting the chairs and the equipment because the air in Chakan can get quite grimy from all the traffic. People from the nearby villages in Khed come to see us, and they usually have a lot of stories to tell while they wait their turn. We keep a simple ledger for appointments and try to stay on top of the schedule, though things often run late. The lighting inside is a bit bright, which is necessary for the work we do. We do not have a fancy website or big advertisements. Most people just know we are here at Manik Chowk because they pass by us every day on their way to the market. It is a humble spot but it serves the community well enough. We just open up in the morning and stay until the last person is seen.
