Balaji Trading Co.

Balaji Trading Co. is located at 1243 / 30 on Dr. Ambedkar Road, right by Vat Street in Vannerpet. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood, and we’ve become quite a fixture there. The building is older, and we occupy a space that’s been used for trading for a long time. It feels lived-in, with wooden shelves that have seen better days and a counter that’s a bit worn down at the edges. We don’t mind it, though, because it gives the place a bit of soul. Dr. Ambedkar Road is always full of life, so there’s never a quiet moment outside. We get a lot of people just dropping in to see what we have or to chat about local news. It’s a very social way to run a business. We handle a lot of different items, so the back room is always a bit of a puzzle to navigate. We try to keep it organized by date, but sometimes things get shuffled around when we're in a hurry. Our team is small, mostly family and a couple of guys from the next street over. We don’t have a website or any of that fancy stuff; we just rely on people knowing where we are and what we do. It’s a simple life, opening the shutters in the morning and closing them up at dark, and it works for us here in Vannerpet. We have our regulars who come by, and that's enough for us.
