We started this shop in Pimple Gurav because there weren't many places nearby to get your eyes checked or pick up a pair of frames. Being right near Bhagat Singh chowk helps people find us pretty easily. Most days it’s just us here helping folks who broke their glasses or need a new set of contact lenses because their old ones are scratchy. We have a lot of different frames on the walls. Some are fancy but most are just sturdy ones that don't cost too much for local families. The road outside can get a bit loud with the traffic coming off Anant Nagar road, but inside it stays quiet enough to get a proper eye test done. We spend a lot of time adjusting nose pads or tightening screws for people who just walk in off the street. It’s not a huge place but we have what’s needed. Sometimes the contact lens fittings take a while if someone hasn't worn them before, but we try to be patient with it. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. It’s nice when people come back every couple of years for their new prescription. We don’t do much advertising; mostly people just see the sign when they're passing through the chowk. It works out okay for us. We keep the shop open until late evening so workers can stop by after they finish their shifts.
