Avon Men

We've been here on Karve Road for a good while now. It’s right near Thondu Mama College, so we see a lot of students coming in between their classes. Erandwane is a busy spot, especially in the afternoons when the sun is really hitting the front of the shop. I started this place because I wanted a decent spot for guys in the neighborhood to just sit down and get a trim without too much fuss. The chairs aren't the newest, but they do the job just fine. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on weekends, and people have to wait on the bench outside, but nobody seems to mind much. We mostly just talk about cricket or what’s happening on the news while we work. It’s a simple setup here in Khiladi Wadi. I try to keep everything tidy, though some days the hair piles up faster than I can sweep it. Being close to the college means there's always someone coming in asking for whatever the latest style is, even if I tell them it might not look right. We just handle the regulars and the walk-ins as they come. It’s a small space, but it’s home for us during the day. Sometimes the tea guy from next door brings over a cutting chai and we take a five-minute break when it’s quiet. That’s just how things go at Avon Men. It is not always perfect, but we are here every day.
